YOUTH CONFIRMATION AND JUNIOR HIGH MINISTRY
Confirmation for High School Students: Confirmation for 9th graders and high school-aged teenagers is an integral part of our youth ministry program. The preparation for Confirmation is a meaningful process of reflection, study, and service, designed to deepen their faith and understanding. This two-year program is incorporated into the Life Teen youth ministry, with a strong focus on the Eucharist, guiding teens closer to Christ. For more details, please contact our parish office.
Junior High Ministry: Our Junior High ministry is aimed at 7th and 8th graders, providing a foundational understanding of their faith in preparation for the Confirmation program in high school. Students meet once a week during the school year to learn about their faith through engaging lessons and activities. This program is for all students, including those who attend Catholic high schools.
Expectations for Confirmation Preparation:
- Baptism: Students must have been baptized in the Roman Catholic faith.
- Mass Attendance: Regular attendance at Mass on Sundays and Holy Days is required, in accordance with Catholic tradition.
- Sacraments Participation: Students should actively participate in the Sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation.
- Faith Education: Students are expected to deepen their knowledge of Catholic beliefs by studying provided materials and participating in group discussions and activities.
- Service Opportunities: Participation in service opportunities each year is encouraged.
- Mature Decision: Ultimately, students should make a mature and personal decision to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
This program is designed to support and nurture the spiritual growth of our youth, preparing them to fully embrace their faith and its practices.
