CHILDREN’S FAITH FORMATION
Our Children’s Faith Formation team, consisting of catechists, co-catechists, and helpers, is dedicated to sharing the Good News with the children of our parish who do not attend Catholic school.
Our Four Fundamental Pillars are:
- Knowledge: Each session helps children to know Jesus by exploring His teachings, stories from the Bible, and the principles of the Catholic faith. Through engaging lessons and activities, children build a strong foundation of knowledge that deepens their understanding of Jesus and His message.
- Prayer: Integrate prayer into daily life, fostering a friendship with God and learning the prayers of the Church. Children are encouraged to develop a personal prayer routine and participate in communal prayers, which strengthens their spiritual connection and supports their faith journey.
- Celebration: Understand the importance of Sunday as the Lord’s Day, participating in Sunday Mass as both a necessity and a joy, and recognizing Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Children learn to appreciate the liturgical calendar, engage in church celebrations, and see Mass as a vital part of their spiritual life.
- Experience/Application: Realize that catechesis is a journey of getting to know Jesus and learning to live as a Christian, following His example. Through practical applications of their faith, such as acts of kindness, community service, and living out Christian values, children experience what it means to be a follower of Jesus in their daily lives.
Class Schedules: Please call the office for current dates and times.
Our catechists enthusiastically prepare and lead weekly classes using engaging texts and materials provided. We are always excited to welcome new catechists to our team. If you have a passion for the Catholic faith and enjoy working with children, consider registering to teach and inspire the next generation in their spiritual journey. Your dedication can make a lasting impact on our parish community.
